Different Types of medical peel

Chemical peels are a great way to rejuvenate your skin during dry, winter months.

Chemical peels loosen old, dead cells from the skin's surface revealing new, healthy cells.

If you are unfamiliar with peels, look no further as we will dissect different types of peels and exfoliation.

Things to know:

  • Chemical peels do not have to result in a tomato-red and highly irritated face. Chemical peel should leave you with a healthy glow.
  • Every chemical peel is customized to each person's unique skin.

What are the types of Chemical Peels?

Let’s start from the mildest exfoliating treatment.

Exfoliating Cleansers

Revitalize daily with exfoliating wash that cleanses and freshens skin thoroughly, reduces surface oils, while therapeutically enhances the cleaning of problematic skin. The balance of one or either of the flowing: Lactic acid, Glycolic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Salicylic Acid coupled with brightness such as Arbutin, Kojic Acid, Licorice Root, Grape Skin and Green Tea form an effective blend to minimize surface bacteria. Our Perfect Body Wash exfoliating Cleansers offers a deep pore cleanse yet is also effective for those who experience uneven skin tone, dark spots, and post blemish discoloration.

Enzyme Peels

Skin Type: ALL SKIN TYPES AND CONDITIONS

Enzymes such as papain, bromelin, trypsine, or blends dissolve keratin. This will soften and aid in the hydration of the skin.

Papaya is the gentlest of and often used on sensitive skin.

Lunchtime Peel / Red carpet peel

Does not require downtime.

This is usually completed in 30 to 90 minutes.

It provides subtle improvement over time and is often done in a series.

Mild acids are used to gently exfoliate and loosen old dead cells from skin surface thereby revealing new healthy cells.. a glowing, healthy skin.

This peel may be best for fine wrinkling, acne, uneven skin coloring or dry, rough sun-damaged skin to help promote an immediate healthy glow. Remember you will notice improvement with multiple treatments of this peel.

Recovery from this type of peel may be within hours to a few days but with little to no down time.

This peel is ideal for someone who wants to brighten and tighten their skin and have a very refreshed look. Perfect for right before a special event. Because it’s perfect to have on a Friday if you want your skin to look more radiant by Saturday evening.

Combined use of Ara Brown Out daily brightening pads and Weekly Glow correction pads will provide similar effect.

Medium peel

A medium chemical peel gives your skin a smooth, fresh look. It’s a step up from a light peel.

A variety of gentle and innovative blended acids are used as it makes it more effective for removing damaged skin cells, smoothen surface texture while brightening and inhibiting hyperpigmentation. The blended acids penetrates the outermost layer and the upper part of your middle skin layer. This may be the best choice for uneven or moderate hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne scarring or fine-to-moderate wrinkles.

Vi Peel helps to heal and reduce breakouts, control oil, and soften lines and wrinkles to provide more even skin texture. Recovery from this type of peel may take a week or more and require some down time.

Excellent option for treating deeper wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage,

Perfect Derma Peel and Cosmelan are also perfect to even out the skin tone and reduce any brown spots caused by sun damage or melasma, which is often associated with hormonal changes.

The result, Skin is tightened, toned, and totally transformed! Downtime for this peel is typically between four to six days.

Deep peel

A deep chemical peel produces the most dramatic results.

This chemical penetrates down to the lower middle layer of your skin. Recovery time is longer with a deep peel.

Due to their concentration, deep peels often require 14-21 days for the skin to heal properly.

This choice may be best if you have moderate lines and wrinkles, extensive sun-damaged skin, deep acne scars, blotchy skin, and/or precancerous growths called actinic keratosis.

This peel reduces fine lines and pores, and totally renews the top layer of the epidermis, revealing glowing baby-soft skin beneath. With just one treatment, this peel accelerates and delivers exceptional results you might otherwise see over months with a series of lighter peels.

Some deep peels involve a form of pretreatment to prep skin. For example, it is recommended that patients should be on a daily skincare regimen for 30-60 days prior to their treatment to get the greatest benefit from their peel—especially for deeper peels that have a higher concentration of blended acids.

A deep chemical peel is a one-time only treatment if applied to your face and does have significant down time. It requires 14-21 days for the skin to heal properly.
